Nonprofit organizations are crucially important to our society. From volunteer-run community associations to multi-site international organizations, nonprofits provide critical support for communities and solutions to the social issues that affect us all.

 

CT Consulting understands that each nonprofit organization is unique and is dedicated to providing expert facilitation and guidance to help nonprofits advance their missions and achieve results. CT Consulting offers leadership, expertise, and the utilization of rigorous research methods and best practices, while actively engaging clients to create solutions.

CT Consulting is known for spotting opportunities that could be missed by a “boilerplate” consulting process.

ABOUT DR. CRYSTAL TRULL

CT Consulting was founded by Dr. Crystal Trull in 2002. With more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Trull has an extensive nonprofit leadership background. She has served as Development Director for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, Executive Director for Natural High, and Program Director for San Diego Citizen Diplomacy Council.

 

Trull is also a lecturer in the Master’s Nonprofit Leadership and Management program at the University of San Diego and in the Master’s program at the University of California San Diego's School of Global Policy and Strategy. Courses taught by Trull focus on nonprofit management, leadership, and governance.

 

Trull received her PhD in Leadership Studies at the University of San Diego. Her research focuses on nonprofit organizations and philanthropy, specifically nonprofit governance, regulation, and social enterprise earned income programs.

 

Trull earned a Master of Arts Degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of San Diego and is a graduate of San Diego State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies.

 

Trull is active as a volunteer for many nonprofit organizations and community issues. She also has a love for aviation and is a private pilot.

ABOUT ELISE SPENCER, M.A.

Elise is a development practitioner with over a decade of combined experience in education, finance, and project management. She has taken the lead on various research projects, conducting comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analyses. Her portfolio includes work on financial inclusion, climate change, energy policy, environmental management, education, and sustainable development. 

 

Elise worked as a Research Analyst at Bank of Jamaica, contributing to various cross-functional teams involving private and public sector stakeholders. Her research informed consultations with international development organizations including the IDB and the IMF. She has developed expertise in research, project management, strategic planning, policy and data analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

 

Elise’s experience in the nonprofit sector includes working with International Development Enterprises (iDE) as a business development intern. Currently, she works as a Consulting Associate at CT Consulting, a firm which specializes in providing strategic guidance to nonprofits at various stages of development. She is passionate about assisting organizations find sustainable pathways to growth. She serves as an independent consultant through her company, Strategicomm Partners, LLC, where she works on diverse projects. One notable area of focus is the development of net-zero strategic plans for companies seeking to reduce their emissions.  

 

Elise holds a Master of International Affairs with a specialization in International Development and Nonprofit Management, and International Environmental Governance from the School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS) at UC San Diego. She also has a Certificate in Spatial Analysis from GPS.  Prior to this, she earned an MSc. in Government and a BSc. in International Relations from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica.
